Dear Colleagues,

The MBL continues to comply fully with the ‘stay at home’ advisory issued by Governor Charles Baker. The Governor is expected to announce plans for a phased reopening of the state early next week, and MBL Director Nipam Patel is in discussions with local and state officials about a phased reopening of the Woods Hole research community.

Within these guidelines MBL leadership (in conjunction with University of Chicago) is developing a plan for a coordinated, phased return to campus operations that emphasizes the health and safety of the MBL community.

At this time, the earliest date we would be able to welcome Whitman scientists to campus is July 6th. However, it is important to emphasize that a great deal of uncertainty remains in the state’s planning and ours as well. Therefore, you should continue to monitor the MBL’s website for information and we will continue to send out regular updates. Housing reservations will be cancelled for the month of June and you will be contacted by our office to update reservation dates.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.
