COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

UPDATED 11/30/22

All research and education faculty, students and MBL employees are required to confirm their COVID-19 vaccination status through MBL’s secure registry. Any COVID-19 vaccine authorized for use by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or by the World Health Organization (WHO) will be accepted.

The MBL requires all research and education program participants and employees to be fully vaccinated with the inclusion of a booster shot. Although only one booster shot is required, the MBL strongly recommends that individuals continue to receive vaccine boosters as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Exemption

MBL Employees
MBL employees who do not upload proof of vaccination must contact Human Resources to request an exemption.

Research and Education Visitors
Any research and education program visitors who do not upload proof of vaccination must provide the MBL’s Human Resources with a point of contact from their home institution who can confirm their institutionally-approved exemption.

Vaccination Status Confirmation

MBL Employees
Information on how to upload vaccination status has been sent to all existing employees and will be sent to all new employees.

Research and Education Visitors
All research and education program visitors receive information in their registration materials on how to upload their vaccination status prior to campus arrival. This information must be uploaded to obtain building access.

Individual vaccine records are accessible only to a restricted number of staff to confirm compliance with MBL requirements. If further action is required, the individual will be contacted by Human Resources. The information in the vaccination registry will be maintained in accordance with applicable laws and public health regulations.

Upon completion of the vaccination registry individuals will e-sign the MBL’s Acknowledgment and Attestation Regarding COVID-19.
