The overriding intent of all MBL COVID-related processes and procedures is to ensure a safe environment for the entire MBL community.
The MBL has suspended all non-essential work-related international and domestic air travel until further notice and strongly cautions against any non-essential personal travel outside of Massachusetts. All employees who are planning to travel out of state, regardless of length or destination, are asked to complete a travel form with information about their trip. This will help the MBL work with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to limit exposure in the event of a positive test case.
Although the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has downgraded their travel guidance to a Travel Advisory, all MBL staff and visitors entering Massachusetts, including returning residents, who do not meet an exemption (e.g. proof of full vaccination), are required to quarantine for 10 days, or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts. This is a requirement if an individual intends to enter a MBL campus building or residential space after travel. We ask that that managers and supervisors review travel requests from your employees to determine if their travel situations require them to remain out of campus buildings for 10 days.
