Dear Colleagues,

We have recently had an uptick in positive Covid cases on campus and wanted to remind you of the MBL’s process if you are exposed to someone who’s tested positive, or you find yourself with a positive Covid test:

Exposure Protocols: https://goforward.mbl.edu/guide-for-addressing-confirmed-or-suspected-covid-19-exposures/ Staff must follow these guidelines before returning to campus if they suspect exposure or if they test positive.  Any MBL community member who tests positive must promptly self-report to their supervisor or MBL point of contact, and Human Resources at covid@mbl.edu

Contact Tracing: MBL no longer notifies close or proximate contacts of exposure and will rely on the individual who tests positive to inform close contacts of exposure so that they can monitor their health and get tested if needed.

Personal Health Awareness: Please remember to monitor your health and stay home if you are feeling ill and until symptoms have resolved. Now that we’ve entered the fall and winter season will be upon us shortly, simple steps like handwashing, staying up to date on flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, and avoiding others when feeling sick help to protect yourselves, your colleagues, and your loved ones from illnesses.

Masking: Individuals may decide to mask based on their own circumstances and their preferences. Such decisions should be respected.
